Monday 21st April / Saturday 26th April

Namby Pamby........ as said by a friend of mine who despite undergoing chemotherapy was pleased to be able to play tennis, and didnt want any 'namby pamby style', but proper hard hitting stuff. I could relate to that.

Poor mum-in-law is still in hospital, despite a brief trip home last Thursday for two hours, where they quickly realised that it just wasnt going to be feasible for her to stay at home. She is getting stronger and fitter every day but finds the night time long and ardous.

This was the start of the blog at the beginning of the week! As you can see I had good intentions but .....

Good news is that mum in law came out of hospital on Wednesday and is appreciating being back at home , especially as she can now have Pops 24/7, and not just limited to visiting hours.

Our Gynae cancer support group meets next Thursday , it has been running a year now come May, and we have been fortunate enough to gain support not only from Macmillan but also private sponsors, friends have donated money and a private PT chap has been fund raising for both the prostrate and Gynae group. Plus I've just heard this week that a group of netballers have very kindly offered the group quite a large sum of money.

The bluebells are out in the woods, and I've just read up that they are early this year, I hope that means we are in for another lovely summer!

Hubby and I helped man the Macmillan "Out reach " stand at Liberty wharf for a couple of hours last week, met some interesting folk.

Had my favourite small children over for Good Friday visit, they enjoyed the homemade play dough ( and a few chocolate cakes/eggs) too!

Counting candles.......meanwhile Jack putting on his ' best smile' ( that boy has issues....)

Easter baking- trifle for Jacks work - chocolate cake and banoffee pie requested for Dans birthday......

Dan featuring in the Channel Islands student brochure !

I couldn't possibly write the blog without a pic of my dog - enjoying the cliff paths above Bouley bay.... :-)

Thursday 3rd April

Firstly, an update on the hospital patient, she is improving every day, walking more and getting stronger. The 'nurse' visits twice a day, and has virtually become part of fixture and fittings, if he doesnt watch out, he'll end up in the bed next to her!

I am feeling much better, the antibiotics finished last week and my energy levels are recovering, as is my 'positive' attiude. I am going to see how I feel in the next couple of weeks and build myself up before the next blood test on May 1st.

My kit for the Jersey Veteran Badminton games- we did lose sadly but I really relished the chance to play, and throughly enjoyed the tournament .
The Gynae group had an excellent response to the 'green tokens' at Waitrose, we have our meeting this evening so I may even get to find out how much money we made ....
The beautiful sunny day on Saturday when I was playing badminton, husband was out walking with his girls...
My lovely mothers day cards, I'll let you decide which one belongs to which child....
Jess enjoying her outside spa time, a daily occurance !
Jacks impressive scar, and yes you really can see the 'tooth' marks, or as his friends remark at the station, "how's your arm Jack, still a little sore? " and then fall about laughing.....
My lovely china pink patio tulips....

The African is due home one week today, we actually managed a short and broken up conversation last Sunday, which was lovely. Shockingly a small boy from the next village strayed from the track and got bitten by a cobra, no antidote, he died an hour or so later. Dan said they have also seen a lone croc drifting past their regular bathing/washing area, I told him not to wash or clean anything-thats not such a difficult task for a boy.......

And finally, took my friend SW on a dog walk around Les Platons cliff paths and woods, she did say that if its all the same to me she'd rather play 36 holes of golf in the future, far less stress on the joints! (only not quite those words and not really with a jokey voice......!!!)
