Sunday 24th July

What a whirlwind week, it's no wonder I've got a bad throat ( had it for a week , but talking non-stop hasn't helped!) and now a rotten cold. Must be feeling rubbish as didn't have a sea swim yesterday.

Still, I (we?) thats me and LH have had a fantastic time, she now needs several days to recover.. I'm not sure why she puts herself through it, she must love me?!

My week in pictures..

We started off with a coffee at El tico, on the very warm Tuesday...

Shopping at harbour view, with my friends homemade handbags etc ( Libertyrock)

And we went swimming in the sea at Anneport!
(I won't post the photos of the issue with the changing robe.....)

Arriving in Sark for our day trip
Her, looking longingly at the horse and carts when I had already told her firmly we were hiring bikes!!

Us at the top of La Coupee

View of Guernsey !

We found the venus pool.... with a 'venus' swimming in it!!!!
Plucking up the courage for a swim after a treacherous rock climb down...

I dont know whats funnier, me scrambling over the rocks to go swimming, or her photography with the man's tummy in the shot!!

Note the matching blue calf strapping....

We both made it- in and out again!!

A well earned beer at the end... ( that was lunch!!)

Excellent day was had by all....

I did get a lunch bought on Friday

Followed by a 'fish' foot spa...a bit weird, but one of us had a laugh...

Super hot Sunday!

The summer has arrived at last, just perfect for my BEST FRIEND who is arriving on Tuesday for a few days of madness and mayhem with ME!!

She'll be 'pleased' to know that last Tuesday after a fully packed day of dog walking, aerobics, two  hours of a very good tennis match and finally netball training in the evening....In the last five minutes of training I tore my calf muscle....

Whilst this is NOT actually good news for me, It will be quite a relief to my friend, as my wings have been seriously clipped. Instead of racing around at 100 miles an hour , I'm now averaging 40-50mph.

Ultimately this means that she will easily keep up, and maybe even overtake me? No, let's be serious, I can still out walk her even if I am limping. :-)

However the stark reality of my injury means NO SPORT, and i couldnt even if I wanted too... but thank goodness I can walk, and I can SWIM, phew, and I have managed four swims today, the first at la coupe, the middle two at Bel Val and the last out at the Ecrehous!!

Bel Val

 Ecrehous

Lovely BBQ, and I got home made dairy free lemon cake cooked by my D-I-L ... lucky me.

Picture of the mad women from Gorey Village...

My brother's birthday last week..... we loved that go-kart!!
Sark to Jersey rowing race... RED MIST, winning the mixed quad, thats Jack's girlfriend... or D-I-L!!
And here she is again, proudly showing us her culinary skills in toasting marshmallows!!
Jack looks like he is perched on Becky's head!
 Ditto.....

And finally I had a lovely time seeing HLeC and family at her afternoon tea Hen Party....

Onto business, once again I have heard nothing as yet as regards the PET scan, I hope it wont be between 13-20th August as that's when little bro and fiance are over, I am at the hospital tomorrow so I will try and get an answer.

Unfortunately for my hubby, due to me being incapacitated I am around the house more, therefore I am finding jobs that need doing, which of course involve spending money.... plus I keep 'sorting' out (throwing out) things which he may have found 'useful', (but have not been used in the last 8 years).

Sunday 10th July

Ok , so here we are nearly two weeks on from the 'latest bad news bulletin', and not a lot has changed. Well, not physically anyway, mentally I've worked my way through it as best I can with the help of friends and lovely people like TH who appear from a foreign country and SORT ME OUT !

For that I am extremely grateful as some fairly big decisions have been made... not as regards my ongoing treatment, so far Ive had nothing on that front, just things that have been bothering me, and Its about time I took some action.

“If you obsess over whether you are making the right decision, you are basically assuming that the universe will reward you for one thing and punish you for another.

The universe has no fixed agenda. Once you make any decision, it works around that decision. There is no right or wrong, only a series of possibilities that shift with each thought, feeling, and action that you experience.

If this sounds too mystical, refer again to the body. Every significant vital sign- body temperature, heart rate, oxygen consumption, hormone level, brain activity, and so on- alters the moment you decide to do anything… decisions are signals telling your body, mind, and environment to move in a certain direction.”
― Deepak ChopraThe Book of Secrets: Unlocking the Hidden Dimensions of Your Life

Just thought I'd share that quote, i'm not reading his book but I do intend to at some point.

Now onto the 'family life' section of the blog. We'll start with son no.3 who out of the kindness of his heart thought that he would do me a favour and take the 'girls' down to the beach to check out the moorings on a boat ( it's always about a boat).

In his 'gung ho' attitude he loads his work 'wagon' with gear, grabs leads, poo bags, towels, shoves the girls in the back and off he goes...

Firstly he drives to a viewing point to see the boat on the moorings, which involves him driving up a grassy bank, job done he turns the car around, and ( he tells me he was only doing 10 -15 miles an hour) drives off.

Upon hearing a sound he looks in the rear view mirror and realises that the sound he heard was the loose catch on the boot flying open.

Sitting in the road behind him he catches sight of a small black and white puppy trembling in the middle of the road......

He gets out very quickly and legs it back up the road to pick her up... thankfully both she and Jess were ok, also very luckily for them there were no other cars about.

He then took them on the beach for a run about where Beanie had a swim and seemed none the worse for her ordeal.
Never trust him with your children....;-)

Still on the subject of dogs, I was on the beach with a friend when we bumped into another friend and her daughter. With six dogs around us it was quite chaotic, and in the midst of a hurried attempt at a conversation a large black labrador raced up to join in the fun.

After a brief sniff around and greeting of everybody he then quite calmly proceeded to relieve himself on my friends jeans ... whilst she was wearing them! For a few moments we were all shocked into silence ... the owner was extremely apologetic and said he'd only ever urinated in a pair of fishermans boots before..

Lovely cliff path walk and cuppa tea with a friend x

Thank you for the comments, kind words and meaningful hugs, also the beautiful bouquet of flowers from AB and some gorgeous flowers from all you lovely folks at St Martin Methodist Church.

If you do see me out and about, please act normally, none of those pitying looks and tears, I can't deal with that on a regular basis !!
