Tuesday 22nd December

I really wanted a 'perfect' 6, a marker level to show that I really was cancer free, and there is no way I should be disappointed in the reading of 12, but somehow I am. As we know anything under 35 is good, but that little nagging doubt, that maggoty worm of supposition is back.

KG the consultant was as brilliant as ever, and was very pleased with the rest of my blood count (as hubby said it could have been 30 or 40 and then I would have been rightly concerned.

My haemoglobin was up to 12 the highest its been since I became ill way back in 2012, and the kidney function, etc is all really good. My white cell count is still low ( surprise surprise!) and sits at 2.6, should be 3.5 in "normal" people.

So, 'we' have decided NOT to  go ahead with a CT scan, (what would I do if stuff did show up, I don't want to go down the chemo route again so soon), and as long as I'm asymptomatic and feel well, then It's better for me if I just go out and ENJOY my life.

Every time I have appointments, or the next bit of treatment, I have to process what it all means and mull things over until I feel that I can deal with the new information. This is where this blogging comes into it's own. It's all part of the analysis and saves my family being bored to tears with my constant "what if's" and "Why"theoretical questions!

Peace of mind I am going to have another blood test in February.

Lets move on now shall we?

AB has arrived! Her flight was delayed at Gatwick, so by the time she had retrieved her broomstick from the baggage hold she was late for supper, so we ate without her and left the washing up.

Already she has been demanding and bossy, never satisfied, moaning there was no fresh beetroot for lunch I sent her out to pick her own. She wanted to know why there were no homemade flap-jacks in the cake cupboard. I should have known she eats one a day without fail, how remiss of me.

The list goes on , but I shan't bore you with all the minor details, I did however make her come to my yoga class this morning and made sure she had enough jobs to occupy her this afternoon.

Two friends have had baby boys in the last few days, I've seen photos and they look gorgeous, pleased for their mums and families that they can enjoy Christmas day now without worrying they may be in labour!

Once again wishing you all a Happy Christmas.
