Wednesday 10th October

Wednesday 10th October

Started the day with a walk in the woods/beach in the drizzle, quite amusing to see Jessie springing over the rocks and seaweed before unwittingly dousing herself in a large camouflaged rock pool!

Then had a fabulous couple of sets of tennis with good friends, AH, MP and SO, fortunately the rain stopped at the beginning of the match and began again when we finished!

Pdlh and I attended the St Martins Public Hall for a talk led by Dr H, entitled Islands Together- it was very interesting and we raised a fair bit of money for his charity which was good.

I took Jessie to visit a friend who has a very large retriever, they did so want to play but the size difference was just too great, Jessie was in severe danger of being squashed!

The family had a scrumptious Spanish fish stew for supper, with baguettes and fruit cake to follow, all kindly donated by AH, all delicious.  We have been thoroughly spoilt as KH made a lovely tea bread last week, and Pdlh brought little fairy cakes this afternoon- so that should keep the boys going for a few days!!

Of course with it being a Wednesday I had to go and have a few games of badminton tonight, and jolly good it was too! Starting to feel a little fitter and quicker around the court, obviously I’m still an old woman trying to play, but pleased to be able to ‘give it a go’!

Tuesday 9th October

Tuesday 9th October

Once again I received the ‘call’, so after walking Jessie on the beach this morning, and asking a kind neighbour to ‘pop in’ and cater for her toiletry requirements (that’s the dog, not the neighbour!!) (thanks Jdlh)! I drove into work! This time working with the youngest pupils of the school, I did enjoy myself, (more my academic level you might say?)

They were honoured to have me really, as I had to miss my Zumba class, that was a tough decision to make and, I think I have a black mark in the book now!
I took Jessie along the cliff paths this afternoon, (I’m fed up of drizzle and damp dog, and so, it appears is she!).
Cleaning, food shopping and a meeting tonight finished my day, and as my daughter is working the 7 till Midnight shift at Waitrose I said I’d wait up for her- because I’m kind like that!

Monday 8th October

Monday 8th October

I overslept this morning, didn’t wake till 7am, consequently wasn’t ready for the early morning ‘supply’ work phone call!! Anyway negotiated a deal that I’d rock up at 9am after I’d walked the dog!

It was good to be back in the ‘old work place’ and see colleagues and children who seemed genuinely pleased to see me! I’d forgotten how much talking you do within the activities, - or maybe that’s just me!

So my plans for aqua aerobics and seeing friends this afternoon all had to be shelved. I got back just before 1pm, to be greeted by a very excited pup. So, feeling guilty I took her for a long walk down into the woods and on the beach at Archirondel. (I then cheated and rang son TL and asked him to pick me up- I said the dog was tired!!!- she wasn’t!)

I left the house at 6pm to play badminton as it is league night, and managed 2 matches in a ladies doubles. Quite pleased with overall fitness, but got a long way to go!

I then drove to St Aubin as a few of us were having supper to celebrate a friend’s birthday!

I think a few ‘followers’ thought I had my CT scan today, it’s next Monday afternoon (originally the doctor thought it was booked for week of the 8th, but letter in post is definitely for 15th!!)

I have a blood test on Friday morning this week, so sure they will be much better this time round!

Sunday 7th October

Sunday 7th October

Apologies for the multiple blog background changes; I’m experimenting with the design lay out, and trying to add photos to my gallery (without much success!)

Also I have had a weekend of fun and laughter, (feels good to write that), so been a bit lax with blog writing!

It was FB’s birthday celebration last night- so lots of laughing and lots of dancing, a brilliant night!
This is a fact that the best way to deal with a late night is to go for an early morning dog walk-so of course I did!

Then I enjoyed my aerobics class at 10.30-11.30, and felt more energised than I had in days.

After lunch son DL took Jessie for a walk while I had a lovely lady come around and give me an Indian head massage- (I had forewarned her about my lack of hair!). I felt so relaxed I had to have a sleep afterwards!

‘Heaven on a plate’ was how my son described the huge dish of chicken and roast vegetables that was unexpectedly delivered at 6pm this evening by CM. THANK YOU!

Saturday 6th October

Saturday 6th October

Results of yesterday’s blood test a mixed bag- (as always) Red bloods are fine as are clotting platelets- now up to 98!However white cells and neutrophils still very low, so they are continuing to ‘keep an eye on me’ and another blood test next Friday!

I am feeling better than I did on Wednesday, partly the antibiotics I’m sure, (however much I don’t like taking them).

Hubby and I had a most enjoyable dog walk in St Catherine’s woods and beach yesterday afternoon, and I took her to Grouville beach this morning. I managed to time it in-between showers of rain, so not too much of a bedraggled dog!

We had two ‘functions’ to go to last night, the harvest supper at church, which started at 6.30pm, and our friends RP birthday party. Both very different events but none the less good fun, lots of catching up with folks I’d not seen in ages.
