Wednesday 10th October
Started the day with a walk in the woods/beach in the
drizzle, quite amusing to see Jessie springing over the rocks and seaweed
before unwittingly dousing herself in a large camouflaged rock pool!
Then had a fabulous couple of sets of tennis with good
friends, AH, MP and SO, fortunately the rain stopped at the beginning of the match and began again when we
finished!
Pdlh and I attended the St Martins Public Hall for a talk
led by Dr H, entitled Islands Together- it was very interesting and we raised a
fair bit of money for his charity which was good.
I took Jessie to visit a friend who has a very large retriever,
they did so want to play but the size difference was just too great, Jessie was
in severe danger of being squashed!
The family had a scrumptious Spanish fish stew for supper,
with baguettes and fruit cake to follow, all kindly donated by AH, all delicious.
We have been thoroughly spoilt as KH
made a lovely tea bread last week, and Pdlh brought little fairy cakes this
afternoon- so that should keep the boys going for a few days!!
Of course with it being a Wednesday I had to go and have a
few games of badminton tonight, and jolly good it was too! Starting to feel a
little fitter and quicker around the court, obviously I’m still an old woman
trying to play, but pleased to be able to ‘give it a go’!
