Saturday 13th October
What a week! I was so pleased to stay in tonight and try to
catch up; in fact I’ve spent all day trying to ‘catch up’ with chores!
Thursday morning I went to a Pilates class (after an hour
dog walk!), and whilst I was there I had a text asking me into work at 1pm for
a couple of hours. Fine, no problem, Jessie sorted and in I went, straight into
a P.E lesson with 4 and 5yr olds! The question put to me was “how good are you
football skills?” Answer; “Excellent”. You can imagine the guffaws of laughter
in my house that evening when I regaled the story of my ‘sporting prowess! (I know nothing about football!!)
Back at home and straight out again with Jessie for a walk,
before an early tea and dog training classes! It was hard work this week, and
whilst she wasn’t bad, she was by no means the best behaved dog. The
distraction of another eight or nine dogs charging around tangled up in leads,
toys and treats, in a melee of owners is enough to unnerve even the most valiant
dog owner!
Friday morning I trotted down to the hospital for my blood
test, and whilst I was there I met Jdlh, looking terribly smart and on her way
for an interview, so what does one do but take a photo, obviously, as that will
calm her nerves!! (Good news, she got the job!).
Nearly two hours later, waiting for results and picking up a
prescription for antibiotics (not that I have any infection, so purely
preventive) and back home for lunch. Straight back out to Grouville beach with
Jessie for an hour, so by the time I came in the door again at 3.30pm I was tired!!
I slept for nearly two hours before I got ready to go out
and meet my old ‘friends’ in town. We had a good meal, although portion sizes
were not huge, so just as well the men weren’t around!

Some of the party stayed in town (rebels) but the sensible
ones (me included) decided to head for home! (Thanks for lift JR)!
Now we are fully updated on the last three days exploits
must just tell you a little story. I stopped off at the garage to buy petrol
(actually diesel, but let’s not split hairs) and it was a new chap on the ‘pumps’
(is that what you call them?). We passed the time of day with a few pleasantries
as one does, anyway my daughter also stopped to buy fuel on her way home from
College and the chap said, “Oh, I think your mum was in earlier” to which she
was about to reply “Did she have lots of curly hair”! But quickly changed it as
the man was hesitating, not sure how to describe me (and no smarty comments
please!)To “Was she wearing a bandana?”
When she re told me the story she said “I can’t believe I
was going to say that”, but it’s nice in a way that you can forget, I’ve had a
few friends that having not seen me for a while forget that I have been so
poorly, and it’s a good feeling to be more or less back in the ‘normal’
bracket. If there is such a thing in my life!!
So the sunshine has helped today, let’s hope for more
tomorrow, and the next hospital trip is Monday afternoon for the CT scan. I’m
not concerned about the actual scan, but I will confess to being anxious about
the results when I eventually receive them (it could be a couple of weeks).

Great to see you on Friday it was properly like old times! Fingers crossed for a perfect CT scan xxxxxx
ReplyDeleteFirstly, well done to JDH. When I was asked to help out with the 4 to 5 year olds they asked how my tennis skills were & I replied "great" knowing full well they weren't !!!-but it was a laugh & I think it's good for children to see that adults don't always find things easy!!! Hope all goes ok tomorrow, but as u say, it's the waiting !!!! xxxxx
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone xx
