Decided to clean out the fridge this morning at 7.30am! Well, I had to stay in the kitchen and keep quiet as daughter (Boo) was having a 'lie in' as no lessons first thing on a Thursday. Son No2 opens the door of the fridge looks despondently inside and said he'd never seen it look so bare!!
Went into town to buy my friend a 50th birthday card ( you know who you are )! Bumped into a parishioner and found out first lent Lunch is tomorrow in St Martin, looking forward to homemade soup, bread and cheese after work ;-)
First stumbling block when I called the hospital to 'book' my flight for next Tuesday, not quite as simple as that, it's all 'means tested' and tax forms are involved..... so I've passed the buck to hubby to try and sort out, mild panic as we are talking 4 days away and I'm not going to miss it !
I am continuing to be humbled by the amount of support, 'love' and prayers that people and friends are giving me, I do feel a sense of comfort knowing that so many people care :)
Enough of that soppy stuff, off out now for a dinner engagment, bit unusual for a Thursday night but not one , shall we say that you can turn down !!
wow, think I have just sussed how to watch and chat on daily blogs. Spent day studying Post Colonial movies, esat is East is fun and poingnant. I love to study this stuff.Spent a couple of hours in town with Kate and lovely Lyra. I am loving being a grandmama, x
ReplyDeleteHi Jill, dont panic about flights .Mark had to do all that when he went over . not a problem . Tell son no2 to get his a**e into gear and send him down to Waitrose with your shopping list !!! xxx
ReplyDeleteMy head is filled with images of Jill swimming the English Channel to get to this appointment on Tuesday.(not because of the paperwork, which I'm sure Steve will sort, no problemo, but because she fancies the challenge and it will get her there) Off to UK tomorrow to see Shane who got back from his travels yesterday. Man, I can't wait to see him again. He's probably going to have me wrapped around his neck for aprox 3 minutes, poor lad!
ReplyDeleteWill keep blogging from Manchester, and yes, before fellow bloggers titter at the Manchester weather, it has been 16 degrees and sunny there today, so a good old titter back at ya!
P.S. Totally agree with the 'old girl' (feel slightly rude writing that), son No 2 should be promoted to Manager of Shopping. (this does not involve payment of any sort by the way, it's an honorary title)xxxxxx
couldn't see you for the children today in the playground till I got in my car!!!!!!!!! must have been the day to clean out fridges-when two of our little darlings crashed into each other & I needed the ice pack, only to find freezer had defrosted so had to clean it out !! Hope Steve sorted flights out for you. Are you just going for the day on tues? Have you written down all what you want to ask? Been to zumba tonight-just when I think I have mastered some of it, she changes it!!!!!!-still enjoy it though.xxxx
ReplyDeleteHey Jane, the old girl is me Jan!!. So glad Shane is back in one piece .Abigail is back tomorrow after only 2 weeks away and I have missed her so much .xxx
ReplyDeletelove reading people's news, let's hope the fog clears and everybody gets where there supposed to be !!xx
ReplyDeleteJaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, hello lovey!! Identity now known, so don't feel so bad about calling you the old girl, tee hee. By the way, you don't suit that as having seen you recently, you are looking rather marvellous. Slim, trim and pretty as ever. Don't think we'll be flying anywhere fast today, if at all. Hugs with Shane may have to wait till tomorrow methinks. Still going to airport though. Live in hope!xx
