I didn't even make it into the hospital, KG called me up to say my scans had been looked at and everything is NORMAL. I didn't believe her of course, and made her repeat it saying the line was bad and I'd obviously misheard. Anyway, she called later ( I'd forgotten to ask about the clot), and she said the liver, pancreas, kidneys etc all seem fine.
I had told the CT scanning team yesterday that if they could 'airbrush' out any bad bits, it would be most helpful. As regards the clot, there was no mention of it in the report, so we are assuming it has 'resolved' itself and disappeared, which is also good news.
Now, of course I am delighted, and it was the best news I could have have had, but....as KG did say herself, whilst the CT scan is good, it doesn't pick up the microscopic cancer cells, which we both knew, however its all about living in the here and now, so I'll put those vivid dreams of massive tumours invading my liver, kidneys and other organs on hold and get on with the important job of LIVING.
I'm not totally insensitive to my other friends who are also having their own issues with this disease, and I think about them on a daily basis, wishing that they are also get good news.
On a side note I had an eye test today, and whilst my sight is worsening I'm not quite bad enough to wear glasses on a daily basis, ( or contact lens), but at the end of the test the optician said I had "pinpoint" cataracts, not something that I needed to be concerned with for at least"another decade".
I felt like saying " Oh, I do wish that I am still around in another ten years so I can have the worry of cataracts"!
Played badminton last night, they were only six of us, but I had some great matches, and although none of the guys had any idea, they were brilliant in helping me forget the worry of the scan results.
Once again, thank you everyone from dog walkers, to lunch buyers to virtual hug givers, I appreciate every one of you.
When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life, for your strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason to give thanks, the fault lies in yourself. Tecumseh
Fantastic to share this news today with you! You so deserve good news like that! I know your friends will be thrilled too! Best wishes to all of them as they wish you! Xx
