She's deliberately not been taking any morphine...two reasons ...one, she doesn't want it and two, if you have the morphine connected then you have to have the tube blowing oxygen up your nose ...and that's irritating. So, when she asked the nurse to unplug the morphine she was told no....mainly because they want to be completely sure that there will be no pain when she starts eating again tomorrow....so, the morphing stays for now. When thomas called earlier he was appalled that Jill wanted to get rid of the drugs....people should always make the most of offers of free morphine apparently.
So, what else has happened today? Not a whole lot really ....Jill is already bemoaning the fact that she's confined to bed....a brisk walk around the ward would be preferable .... But if she did that she'd be dragging the bed behind her...still a number of tubes plugged into various places.
With luck we may lose tubes tomorrow....the deciding factor will be keeping solid food down without pain...once we've got that cracked then things can happen. The liquid diet is also a highlight .... Jill was lucky to be given an oxo cube in hot water for her main meal this evening....the joys.
So that's about it for now....I had expected her to want to write the blog this evening... But she does short bursts of activity and she has a little doze...with me at the controls of the tilting bed....I have warned her that if she doesn't behave then I'll set the machine to tip her on the floor...
so that's it for now...more again tomorrow...
