Happy birthday to my sister-in-law today, and such brilliant weather for the Race for Life!
It was a really amazing morning- about 1,000 ladies/girls mostly dressed in pink and running/walking jogging along the esplanade this morning.
Quite emotional seeing so many people with one theme in common, and sadly often many names written on their 'labels' as to the reason they were taking part in the race.
We had the inspirational chat from the RFL organiser, and then observed a minutes silence, thinking of all those people/friends and family that were either too poorly or unable to attend, or who are no longer with us.
We started with a very professional 'warm up' routine and dance to get us in the mood from JP and JR, and then we were off!
Huge thanks to Jdlh and JP (St Mary) who walked the race in my name, and for DW who also had my name on her label.
Support from family members Hubby, daughter, and AL/EV who though late for the warm up still walked the 5k.
