The "more up-to-date blog" (that was mentioned last night) is being posted by the senior male this evening...and before we start....I need not keep you all in suspenders too long this evening, so I just wanted to say that Jill had a very good email from the hospital yesterday to say that there's no change on any of her scans.....so to celebrate, her ladyship has gone out this evening with her badminton buddies.....it gives them a chance to talk about how to play good badminton, which isn't something they see very often. Seriously though, good news....really good news.....so we can relax until the build up for the next 3 month check.
So Jill is town, Jacko is on nights, Dan is in town with friends, Tom is upstairs building his latest website and Bex is on the sofa watching Benders......that leaves yours truly to compose something on the laptop.
If you think that being a States Member means you don't have hassle with Planning then you are very much mistaken. Today I have realised just how some others feel....but fortunately I have managed to sort it out. We have a roof with no slates on, and no builders to put the slates on because we are struggling with yet more "permissions". It's crazy.....I was at Planning this morning trying to make the whole process simpler for everyone....and came home to find that it was anything but simple. Anyway....we have been promised that something will happen tomorrow.....just in time for the weekend when everyone will be elsewhere other than working at out house.
I managed to find a half hour to pick some cherries this morning. I needed to change a light bulb at the very top of the mast on my boat (which is STILL out of the water) and called a very good friend that has a "cherry picker". He met me down in the boat park and up we went into the sky. What a good view you must get doing that job every day.....my light was fixed in no time.....which was just as well because the weather wasn't exactly sunny was it? Have we ever known a spring like this? With luck we may have some vegetables by September, but, at the moment, the only place that anything is growing is in the greenhouse, and even that's a struggle.
For those of you who need "doggie update".....Jessie is collapsed on the rug this evening. She has been out playing with her boyfriend Winston all afternoon. Winston is a very friendly Labrador type dog from St. Helier who sometimes comes visiting with young Tom N. The two dogs are more than happy just to chase each other around continuously.....consequently she is completely immobile this evening....which is great news for us.
Next week will be a big boat week for us. La Duchesse, Skipmaster (Jack's boat) and the RIB should all go back in the water....by next week end we will be a fully floating family (apart from those of us who don't really like boats that move around in the water). All we need is for the weather to improve....and on the news this evening the nice man said that the long term forecast for June was staying cool......so, we assume that he means usual sub-zero temperatures continuing. Wonderful.
