Saturday 6th December

Well we certainly managed to pack quite a lot into our day yesterday, including using various modes of transport, plane, train, taxi and bus!
Lovely smooth flight over, and pleased no rain in Southampton, that would have made it very miserable. As we had a bit of spare time either side of the hospital appointment we were forced to partake of a little shopping, we didn't feel guilty until a shop assistant inquired if it was Christmas gifts we were buying..... uh, no, all for us!!!

We didn't have a long wait to see the doctors (four of them), two of which we had seen previously a few years ago. They did say that genetic testing has come on a lot in the last three years which is good news. Lots of questions asked of Becky, and quite a few 'tests' done to see what she could/could not do. She didn't need to give blood, and they had access to previous scans and xrays.

It seems as if she ticks certain boxes with some of her 'conditions', the ptosis, the neuromas, etc, but not all, and yet other symptoms such as poor weight gain and a certain rigidity plus the scoliosis of the spine would indicate something else. These 'issues' plus a few more besides caused them to say she was a bit of a 'puzzle'! She could in fact have two conditions that are overlapping each other... In order to try and speed up the process of a possible diagnosis (which can take up to two years) both Steve and I are having our DNA tested.  Whilst we will hope that we will one day have a answer to all these questions it will not necessarily mean a 'cure', but may be able to help with future therapeutic treatments should she need them, and of course it would be nice to know!

Now onto today, and we've had such a lovely time, being outside for most of the day. Starting off with a walk from home to Gorey, through the woods and along the coast. Sat outside a local establishment and had a beverage before Bex picked us up, (Steve said he was only doing one way!)

A quick lunch at home and then off to St Aubin where there was a Christmas market, it was really buzzing and a great atmosphere. We had taken our petanque set as had been challenged to a game or two with those 'friends' out west...
Make up your own caption!!

Once again, thanks for the comments and despite feeling somewhat tired from the previous days escapades, an early night did the trick!
