Thursday......coldday

Well, it's the so called PM here tonight...sniffling his way through this evening's blog....I've been handed the laptop by her ladyship as she runs around getting ready for her Southampton trip with Bex tomorrow. Yesterday I was told I would be at the Doctor's today.... and I said that I would be "all better" this morning.....the truth is somewhere between the two I think....not at the Doc's, but not 100% either. I've survived thanks to the wonderful Mr. Beecham...and lemsip tablets.....the packet of pills all looked the same....just as well I looked closely, as some of the pills were marked (not all that clearly) "day", and some "night". Had I not looked properly I would almost certainly have just carried on and "popped" the next two at lunchtime....that would have looked good had I swallowed the "night" ones, as I almost certainly been fast asleep during our important Council of Ministers meeting this afternoon....and in front of all the Chief Officers as well! It's been a good day, and I got one of my suggestions adopted as a "priority" for the next three years. That was the good news....the bad news is that, now I've had my idea closen, I'll have to deliver. I know that my team will be excited to think we are at the forefront of some very important work over the coming session of Government.....and proper government at that!

Masterchef has just finished...and this evening I had our own master chef Daniel cooking for me. He had some cookery lessons (yes, I did type that correctly) while he was in Thailand, and he's been keen to impress us with his skill since his return (we all know of course that he makes a pretty mean pizza, including his own base).....so today he went food shopping for his mum (did he have to keep reminding us) and, while he was in the supermarket, purchased all the ingredients for a Pad Thai. As Jill went off to one of her "gynae group meetings" Daniel was at the Aga with his wok (well, deep frying pan really) and the cooking commenced. It was, I have to admit, pretty tasty, with crushed peanuts in a bowl on the table along with sliced limes to squeeze on "as required". The only issue was that there was only just enough....in true Dan fashion he had invited a (hungry) friend around for dinner...and let's just say that the two of them had plenty...the excuse was that as I wasn't on top form I wouldn't have a proper appetite.....pretty unfair I thought....so I consoled myself with a mini Milky Way, and (very) small packet of Maltesers and a mini Snickers......oh, and a peach yoghurt....what a combo! My stomach is now the size of a small country.

Bex has just returned from her book keeping class...Jill has returned from her meeting...and Dan and friend are up in the loft playing some computer game. The girls are talking through the lists of all the things they need to remember for their trip... paperwork being the most main thing...the last thing they need is to get there are discover that one little piece of important paperwork is missing. I think the weather will be okay for them....it's certainly been a lot colder today hasn't it....but as long as it's not pouring with rain all day I'm sure they'll have a good time (apart from the hospital bit, obviously).

I heard from Thomas in London earlier...he really is bemoaning the fact that he is no longer in Barcelona....mainly due to the fact that his temperature has dropped about fifteen degrees...and it's damp as well as cold. No doubt he'll continue to moan.....

Christmas decoration anyone?.....
