Tuesday....pinch punch etc....

Woke up this morning not really feeling great, still have this feeling of a heavy weight on my chest, and as anyone who knows me, I don't have anything heavy on my chest normally.....

Certainly no chance of walking the dog this morning, or walking anywhere really... I did an hour of ironing whilst Dan entertained Jess ( even she wasn't keen on going outside in the wind and rain) and then took myself back to bed.. Even forgoing my yoga class, which I love. At 11ish, I called the hospital and explained my symptoms, they suggested I came I to see if they could 'sort me out' .

So, here I am in hospital again... Waiting on blood results... So far all other tests seem fine... Although having my blood pressure checked ( all fine, lowish as usual) and oxygen level, that popped up on the screen as 81% ... Immediate alarm bells sounded. However a new machine was brought in to double check and I for one was relieved to see that the new figure of 94% lit up. Obviously a dodgy set of equipment... Or it just didn't like me.
It really seems as if it's just the Chemo wiping me out, I'd better learn to deal with it.
Two bits of good news, firstly saw my lovely red haired friend who is the ONLY person I know that still manages to look glamorous whilst having Chemo. We even conducted a clandestine phone call, because as she said we could hardly shout across the room, and passing notes was way too laborious. Besides, I don't think the staff would have been willing to participate, and rightly so, they were far too busy.
The second bit of good news , ( other than I seem fine, bloods same results as last week) was I have a new prescription for tablets rather than those rotten injections! Yea! I have to finish the box, have about another seven, then hopefully I can do tablets.... Or depending on next weeks CT nothing!!

Spent twenty minutes trying to send this iPad notes message via email so I can copy and paste to blog.... #frustrated #notworking #iamuseless ... Now been told by my daughter who is cutting out her new Christmas Stocking out ready to sew, that she's already shown me how to do it once....(.big intake of breath and sigh.... )

You know what, I'm just leaving it, and someone else can sort it out!!!!

Steve here now.....adding to the woes....still on the iPad....and still not able to paste and copy.....I so wish this was a Microsoft machine.....mind you, it's lucky it allows me to type the M word...you might have thought, being an Apple machine, that if you started talking/typing about Microsoft that it would delete the post into the bin forever more.

Did I mention Haircut 100.....does anyone remember them? Well.....they were on the radio over the weekend....whoever decided to call a group Haircut 100....what was all that about......anyway....Bex told me over the weekend that I needed a haircut, and she was right....but when to go?.... Just too busy at the moment.....but I did decide to give my beard a trim. I'm having to attend to said beard more regularly at the moment as I've had such grief for trimming it very very short every so often. Consequently I now give it a "number 3" every week or so......well, I decided to give it a trim. Whilst starring into the mirror I decided that the hair over/around the old ears was a little scruffy....so I adjusted the clippers down to number 1 and had a go at "tidying up".......it was soon apparent this wasn't really close enough to get really smart, so of came the adjuster and we proceeded without any depth control......it was at this point that things started to go a little off piste.....it very quickly became clear that I had gone a little too severe..and that there was no option but to try to repair said damage. The only option was to have a "full" all over haircut.....mainly to try to cover up the mistake.....but no sooner had I got half way through that the battery ran out.....there was no option other than to put it back on charge and walk around the house with one half of my head nearly shaved and the other, well, not...another good moment for the planning man that couldn't plan his way across the kitchen.
Time to try to get Bex to show me how to cut....paste and post.....wish me luck.

  1. Steve, I think it's time you sent Bex to hairdressing college! Jill, you're too kind. I was talking to Dr H about you before I left...Jill? Who's Jill? Ah, you mean Barbara! But of course. Sending you hugs, albeit a bit pathetic in their strength right now xxx
