Thank you for all the comments concerning Dan, I will make sure I pass them all on, and NO NS you may not have a copy for the station. He must be fairly thick skinned to walk about sporting a 1970's moustache, but even so....
He thinks he has 'paper' stitches and has to go back in ten days to have them 'removed', he's all a bit hazy on the actual instructions he was given, partly the high dose painkillers, partly because I for one know that HE NEVER LISTENS !!!! The anesthetist had two attempts at putting a cannula in the back of his hand, first one didn't work properly ( he even had 'magic' cream which is more than I do!). I said it was a bit strange me visiting him in the hospital bed instead of vice versa , he said it's great, you get to lie down all day and they bring you food!!!! Seemingly not a lot of difference from home then!
My haemoglobin levels seem to be doing nicely, they had picked up to 10.3, which is the highest in a long time, just hope the G-CSF injections haven't knocked them back. I am due in the hospital on Monday for about the 150th blood test, the veins in my arm are now really protesting, i have had more than my fair share of tests. I wish there was a way you could 'read' blood without having to remove it via needle, it is becoming a real drag and increasingly painful. I cannot see any reason why i should not be having Chemo this week, i must be a whole month overdue now, I've completely lost track, and still only half way through the blessed cycle.
Enough moaning.... I had a good day today, despite the weather, Jess and I took to the shelter of the woods this morning, and this afternoon while I bombed about the tennis court (indoors) Steve took her to the beach and bumped into a fellow neighbour and their dog, so they exercised their jaws and the dogs legs simultaneously.
Ending tonight with a Maya Angelou quote... one of many excellent quotes...
