Also have neighbours who are off to the Marsden next week, and we need to see them and hopefully pass on some of our gained knowledge of transport/accommodation, etc.
Question...How many people do you know that go off to play tennis and come back with a whopping Shepherd's Pie and prepared veg?... Well, that was me yesterday and very welcome it was too, (tennis and Pie!) Thanks AH!
I've been doing some gardening the last few days, planted some broad beans (leaving them in the greenhouse to get a head start hopefully), and trying to tidy up the vegetable beds. Today I did some weeding and got told off, 'Head Of the Environment' said you don't rake the weeds when the soil is so wet as it forms a crust, EVERYBODY knows that....... Huh, I soon had him organised to pressure washer the patio...!
Two boys and one daughter were also doing 'clearing up the yard' jobs, that does seem like painting the Forth bridge.. no sooner has a load been taken to the dump yet more stuff seems to appear. Still the dog enjoyed 'helping'.
We're off tonight to Chateau Le Chaire to meet our friends for supper, hence the earlier posting, they have a regular twice yearly booking, and as they live closer to Guernsey than us, we take the opportunity to catch up with them when they come out East!
Lastly, the other neighbour who has been in HDU at the hospital with cardiac troubles is doing ok, out of danger and hopefully home soon if not already.
