Monday 4th June
I took it easy this
morning, just housework and sleeping, other than 2 brief visitors, (one with
yet more donations for the RFL from ‘chapel’ ladies-thank you!)
We did some gardening in the afternoon, as the forecast for
the week is rubbish and the grass needed cutting, before we headed into town at
4.45. We had planned to view the classic cars but missed them- they’d all left
Peoples Park!!
However we ventured into the ‘food fair’, which was buzzing
and the sun came out! We managed to secure some seats by the stage and were
entertained by Jersey Big band (very good) and my favourite girl group Honey
Bun!
We wisely stayed put as we had an excellent view of the big
screen broadcast from Fort Regent and we were able to spot my sister-in-law in
the choir. By this time other friends had joined us making a nice ‘party
atmosphere’, with the ‘Grand Finale’ of the beacon being ‘lit’ by laser and the
fireworks out at Elizabeth Castle!
A very memorable Queens Diamond Jubilee, God
Bless the Queen!!
Not often you see a photo where absolutely everyone looks great. Brilliant!xx
ReplyDeleteOh bless - having fun with my big sister, her family and my mum :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should've gone down too instead of popping down to St Aubin's for the fireworks.
Glad you all had a great time xx
A lovely family you have !xx
