well....we start today's blog with cats....yes, those little furry, adorable bundles of joy.....or NOT as the case may be.
Ma and Pa were woken up this morning at just after 5 by the sound of our beloved Billie Bob holding a choir practice outside in the yard with the big Tom cat from next door. The two of them do this on an occasional basis....(is it full moon at the moment?).....anyway, the "rents" knew what was coming next.....the big fight!! It's all standard really....5 minutes of choir followed by an enormous scrap....anyway, Mum actually got up (apparently feeling sorry for our moggy) and let Billie Bob indoors.....so that solved the fighting problem. However.....she only let him into one end of the house, AND forgot to give him his breakfast (Dad usually feeds him when he gets up at 6).....Billie was obviously not impressed so, not to be outdone, he just sat outside Dan's bedroom scratching at the door until Dan got up to "sort him out". Mum had retired back under her duvet by this time....and when Dad got up half an hour later he couldn't figure out why Dan's door was open. Looking inside the bedroom to see if maybe Dan hadn't come home, the cat spotted Dad and jumped off Dan's bed (where he had, by this time, fallen asleep) with such force that the woke Dan up AGAIN. Needless to say, if there had been a JSPCA van passing the house at breakfast time it may well have found an additional animal to "take back to town" on a permanent basis. Even this evening the cat still hasn't calmed down....pouncing on anyone as they pass him....we suspect it's his age starting to catch up with him.....bed tempered and grumpy, up early....just like the parents!!
The digger starter motor has been dispatched to the west of the Island for repair...excellent. The inflatable has been "dug out" today as well......starting to get ready for the season (we've never been so organised). Even the builders seem happy.....
Mum had a "stressy" this evening and so we were all having to run around tidying....yes, you've guessed it, we have the cleaner coming tomorrow. you've never heard so many males asking the question "what's the point of having a dog and barking yourself?" ..... we do wonder.
