Thursday....6th (I think) November

Hi. It's Steve here, reporting in....but all I have to report is that there's really nothing to report at the moment. I've returned home from a day in the States to a dog asleep on her beanbag, and Jack eating supper. Bex at her book keeping course, Tom working late (Thursday is his mentoring night at the digital Hub) and Jill out at her Macmillan Gynae Group.....so chemo must have gone well enough.

I did see a photo of her on our family Whatsap group (a free social media thingy messaging service that we use to talk to each other during the day)......it was a quick shot of her "plugged in" to the machine in the Oncology Unit. She apparently came back and went out again....that's good news I think....there's no doubt that she wouldn't have gone had she felt rubbish.

Bex just returned, and Jack watching the very end of Jurassic Park 7 (or it seems like 7....how many did they make in the end?) ...anyway, it's finished, so hopefully we can select something better to watch for the last hour before bed....if that was the best that was on offer then we may have to get the Monopoly board out.....

....as I type Jill has returned as well. I'll be back soon.

Its me...

Jack says his £5 generator from Glencoe actually runs ( he wanted everybody to know ....) Sorry, not 'actually' "it runs"... it's got positive and negative terminals on it! Big Whoop.

Everybody has told me how 'funny' Tom is....

Steve hasn't had any more 'death wishes' today, but nor is he any closer to being a Minister....

Bex's Book keeping course went "OK" this evening and she is still feeling reasonably in control....

Had a lovely day with a double dose of SC... started with the  SC from over the water and involved a walk around Queens Valley, and finished with a SC from the East ( she could have been from The Wizard of Oz....she was a bit of witch!) She insisted on picking me up on the pretence of keeping me company during Chemo. Once in the building she grilled the nurse on how much 'resting' I should be doing, so she could report back, she then insisted on showing me her 'holiday snaps', realising she had a captive audience with no obvious means of escape....
As if that wasnt enough, she was asked to put my prescription into Pharmacy, and I had to time her on how long it would take so she could clock up her 'fitbit'!!! I know she used the stairs because she came back with a beetroot face!
One thing that did make us both laugh was the man that we encountered  amiably pushing his trolley along the corridor and as he passed I notice a small wheel break off, and further up the corridor we spotted another 4 small wheels scattered around..... little things...

Anyway, as the reader ( if there are any left) has now worked out, I did indeed have Chemo this afternoon:
Blood results were as follows

Haemoglobin 11.3
White cells 4.7
Neutrophils 3.19
Platelets 182

Which means we were good to go, or as a friend JH put it, "I was match fit"!

I would have taken a photo of the delicious supper cooked by AH and dropped at our home, but its all been eaten, as has the chicken and sweetcorn soup kindly made by CM yesterday, thanks ladies.

Lastly, a huge big thank you to RL, who kindly gave up her time this evening to come and talk to the Gynae group and give us a demonstration on how to make an Autumnal table flower arrangement. She also provided all the flowers and equipment.... it was thoroughly enjoyable and all the ladies had a great time, and felt quite proud of that achievements!

Here's one i made earlier....
(with a little help....!)
