Transfusion Tuesday

Caught the bus at 8:24am from end of road, arrived at hospital just after 9am. Went up to Oncology where they had to warm up my hands with a heat pad , and even then struggled to find a vein that wanted to play ball. Eventually one was found in my right hand and about 10:30 I went up onto Rayner ward.
Forms to fill in and checks to be made before the transfusion finally started at 11:30am.
It's now 5:30pm and I'm still here, typing left handed one finger, and as Steve has arrived he can take over.....

Well here we are again...back in jolly old hospital..at least it's a Jersey hospital. When we eventually get home I suspect that we will have a very cheesed off dog and daughter...and not necessarily in that order. Bex has had to cope this afternoon as my personal plans have been pretty shot to bits since I left home just before twelve. I had promised that I would walk the dog, but another meeting cropped up...keeping me in town...and I spent all my spare time here on the ward. Consequently the dog didn't get walked....and Bex had to cope.

As I type, Jill has just finished her second unit of blood...so we're out of here in a moment...and someone will have to finish this later on. I feel sure that the car may break down on the way home...probably somewhere around Five Oaks...do you ever feel a trip to the Chinese coming on? Well, we all need food, and the thought of starting to cook when I get home doesn't appeal. We're all a bit out of sorts to be honest...the best laid plans of mice and men etc etc.....at least Jill was organised enough to bring some things to do while she was here today....unlike me, who expected to be home at two. With Dan away, and Jack out this evening it's difficult to plan...and I had really expected to have had time to "get organised"...yeah, right, I hear you say. Anyway...I know that Tom eats duck, and I have been known to enjoy a small chicken satay, so a quick perusal of the menu at the Great Wall beckons. Not even the three star rating recently bestowed upon the establishment by the veritable Environmental Health department will put us off some oriental cuisine this evening....not quite sure what Jill all have though....maybe we can invent a special dish for her.

Right, we're off......so, it's bye bye from Rayner Ward and hello Seaford....someone will be back in an hour or so.

Back home, Chinese food bought and eaten, yet another wretched injection given, and now lying on the sofa watching two extremes on TV , OCD cleaners and total as my younger brother would say Scumbags!!!

Nearly finished second unit!!
