Monday 3rd December
(A happy birthday to my mum, who is no longer with us, bless
you mum).
I text son JL at 7.15am this morning partly to wish him ‘happy birthday’ but also to make
sure he was standing in the queue at Gatwick airport! All seemed OK and he was……so
when we had a text an hour later to say actually he had ‘discovered’ he was
booked on flights that don’t exist!!!!! But don’t worry at no extra cost (!) he
was booked on another flight that actually only had one stop rather than two……….We’ll
wait and see later tonight when he has promised to text us again (if he has
reached his destination). As for his return flights, who knows!!
A lovely friendly electrician turned up this morning to sort
out our wiring/plugs/sockets/switches and lights (there is a lot to do!) and
somehow we got chatting about house/car security. He regaled an event in Jersey
concerning his wife who had just bought a brand new car. It’s one that you don’t
need a key, just the fob and push button start. Anyway she parked up to nip
into a shop for a loaf of bread and probably forgot to push the button to lock
it. Four minutes later she returned to find a man sitting in her car helping
himself to stuff! Well, at this point had it been me I would have probably done
some ‘girlie’ screaming and panicked, but not her…………She simultaneously yelled,
dragged him out of the car by the scruff
of the neck…… and ‘decked him’!!!
Popped into school today and grabbed a few big hugs from
work colleagues- fantastic! Then took Jessie onto the beach where I came across
SC and friend, as well as TF/LF. All of us walking dogs, Jessie took a shine to
Baxter, and they chased each other crazily for half an hour. Jessie won on
speed and agility, Baxter wasted his energy on barking!!!
Badminton this evening, won some lost some, but all good
games.

I think you put me off the 'no key' type car-give me the conventional key any day! Sorry I didn't get to see you when you popped into work. Would love a catch up soon xx
