CHRISTMAS
DAY!!
My aunt and I had a lovely walk around Val de la Mare reservoir
this morning (carefully avoiding all showers of rain), without any mishaps
involving feathered birds, dead or otherwise.
The boys COULD NOT BELIEVE that lunch time on Christmas day
meant getting their own food and it consisted of salad (they don’t eat) and
left overs!! ‘Scrooge’ amongst other things was a word banded about in my
general direction.
We did all manage to sit down and open presents before the
Queen’s speech, and I had some really lovely gifts, including diamond earrings
in my little box….. Feeling like such a very, very lucky lady, fortunate not
only to have such thoughtful presents from the family, but more importantly to
be able to enjoy having the family altogether.
All focused on 'building a fire-engine'!!! |
We decided we needed another thirty minutes of walking and
fresh air before we went to my sister-in-laws, where she had prepared a mighty feast!!
A fabulous Christmas meal with all the trimmings and more beside- thank you!!
“The best of all
gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family all
wrapped up in each other.”
