Monday 4th February

Well….the family are fighting back following the “woman’s” decision to move her blog on to a weekly basis….by filing their own take on the day’s highs and lows.

The day started with Dan taking his tent to camp outside the doctor’s surgery before 830 in order to get an early appointment before work. Steve took Bex to College on his way to the States buildings, and Jess took Jill for a walk.

Tonight’s meal table conversation has been dominated by Scram jet engines and ram jet engines…..which you won’t ever need to know about unless you fancy a quick trip into orbit. Chief engineer was in charge of the discussion as you might have guessed…..other subjects included the discovery of Richard III…..followed by a long history lesson on Edward IV and Henry Tudor (and naturally England’s greatest king, his son, Henry VIII)…..and then of course much argument about the pros and cons of the alleged murder of the two Princes…..anyway, some of us will be tuning in this evening to see how you discover a King buried in a car park…..although not much chance of discovering anything in our car park except gravel covered in oil that’s leaked out of teenager’s cars!! Finally, as on most Monday’s, the traditional run through the list of items for sale at Glencoe on Wednesday…do we really need a self propelled fork lift (ex-States vehicle, of course)….a “lovely” 12 guage side-by-side shotgun…a panel van…..anyway, none of us will be there….but we do like talking about it.

Dan spent another “bl**dy obscene” amount of money at the doctor this morning….apparently the doc still refuses to believe that Dan knows more about medicine than he does….blood has been taken…which I suspect was easier to get out of Dan than the fee has was charged for the privilege.

Bex has been to College all day, and is much better thanks…Steve is still in circulation although still “on the pills”….Jill has been out on walks (which could have been anywhere for all we know) and is doing some sport this evening…. again, who knows? If you see her, send her home and ask her to pick up some milk on her way please!

Tomorrow looks like being just a tad blowy and rainy…force 9 and rain….just the start for Steve, who has to be in town for his weekly French lesson before 8. Jack back on his next tour tomorrow morning….so the whole family may well be doing something constructive….but only after lunchtime (which is when the CE surfaces and starts work)

Plans being made for next week…which looks very “blank” in the adult’s diaries. Much clearing, dumping and burning to be done outside…..and plenty arguing as well as we get into the usual “discussion” about the usefulness of something that has been kept for the last 15 years “just in case we might need it”……ho hum.

Speak tomorrow.

How does Bob Marley like his sandwiches?
