This weather seems to know no bounds…the months of endless
rain almost seem like a distant memory….unless of course you’re trying to plant
spuds…how the farmers must be glad to see the sun. First thing this morning was
very misty with the tractors waking everyone up….well, we assume they were
tractors…we couldn’t see them in the fog. The paper plane also came over at
06:15 adding to the noise….it was late, normally it’s exactly 05:58!!
The mist had almost completely gone by 7 as Dad headed off
for his weekly coffee at the café…again without dog. Apparently the sunrise
over the Breakwater was pretty spectacular… photos were posted on Twitter pages
to good effect…many people in the west of the Island were certainly surprised
as it was still pretty grey out there.
The Fireman and the Ex Farmer decided to assemble the book
case once the night shift was over….very quiet last night so Big Jack was happy
to assist. There was a little bit of “working it out before we start”, but on
the whole it went back together okay….the only “discussion” being about which
wall it was best suited to….Mum took photos…maybe she’ll post them.
Mum and dad then decided to go for short and easy dog
walk…so they headed out west to Gronez Castle…don’t ask, we couldn’t work it
out either. Anyway…the walked from the Castle to Plemont and back….spectacular
as ever and lots to see….including some old holiday camp apparently…..don’t
know what they’re talking about.
There were three boys clearing this afternoon…..yes, all
together…..and no fights!! By the time Mum and Dad got back from petanque there
had been some real progress made, and a real proper fire was roaring away in
the bottom yard….”just hot enough to start burning bits and pieces”…..it was
just as well that Jack had to go to work because he will be able to tell them
not to attend any reports of fires in the Rozel area….
