Tuesday 5th February

First...an apology for the swearing in last night’s blog.....it won’t be repeated....very unparliamentary.

On big Js return from “sport” last night we were all informed that it’s not safe to mention personal names on the blog (it’s still safer than crossing the road however)....so, from now on we will use descriptive titles for family members. To keep you on your toes these titles may well be varied and numerous....but to assist we are starting this evening by listing a few that may be used.

Family member No. 1 could be; F/Father, toM/the old Man, tP/the politician, tRF/the retired farmer, tGoG/the grumpy old git, tS/the Skipper, tB/the Boss.

Family member No. 2 might be; the Woman/tW, M/Mum, SS/Sporty Spice, tT/the Teacher(although not strictly true), tCM/the Cat’s Mother, CT/Curly Top, SE/Salad Eater.

Family member No. 3; tCE/the Chief Engineer, 3D/Three Degrees, TT/TomToots.

Family Member No. 4; FS/Fireman Sam, tLA/the Landscape Architect, LB/Ladder Boy, tF/the Farmer.

Family Member No. 5; tB/the Barista, tBM/the Business Manager, tL/the Lifeboatman.

Family Member No. 6; BB/BeckyBoo, tS/the Student, HoR/Head of Reducing, ITG/IT Girl.

Family Member No. 7; JJ/Jessie J, tD/the Dog, tFM/the Flatulence Machine

Family Member No. 8; BB/Billy Bob, tC/the Cat, tS/the Sleeper.

Right so now we all know who we’re talking about......tD and tW went walking first thing after which school was calling.....The Farmer and the Boss left early for work and BB followed before 8:30 heading for College. The Barista went off to make coffee at Grand Marche at 10:30.....CE was left to look after tFM’s second walk whilst BB slept off last night’s sleep.

Confused?......maybe we should go back to names?

Tonight’s dinner discussion centred on contracts versus pay-as-you-go....yes we were talking mobiles. One of us still adopts the “call and then hang up quick so they call you back and use their own phone bill” technique....much to the total annoyance of others. Then we had the usual “why is the local BBC news SO MUCH LOUDER than the national news?”......other items worthy of mention included the old traditional names of Jersey fields, and how many sets of Land Rover wheels we have in the shed.....and how many cars we think we could fit in the garage. There was much amusement around the table as the one eating salad tried to describe how she had taken two chunks out of a tyre on her car whist negotiating the hairpin bend at Gorey......not much sympathy from the rally driving male fraternity around the table I’m afraid.

The dog got fed up eventually and took itself off to puppy training at the RJA....another stunning evening in the Luce household.....more tomorrow. Wrap up warm peeps...it’s freezin’ out there.

  1. Enjoying these posts immensely. Takes me right back to the random things we used to talk about around your kitchen table at Cottage Farm, not to mention the giant debates about absolute tosh! Liking the new descriptive titles, although not so sure about BB being referred to as HoR! Can I go back to being LVSN??!! xx

Going back to your question a few days ago - yes I'm up for race for life this year, either as a walker / pram pusher or as a runner. What date is it?
