Saturday 9th February

Yesterday it didn't seem important that The Fireman had bought a new mobile....it did seem important however when the old phone that he had left in the hall started ringing at 06:45 this morning.....even though the sim card had been removed the alarm still decided that it needed to ring....and again at 07:00.....excellent......what a good start to the day, especially for IT Girl who had worked until late last night getting her assignment finished......ho hum. By this time the dog had already decided that it didn't want to get in the car and go to St. Catherine's Cafe for a coffee.....the Old Man (not feeling inclined to have a meaningful early morning conversation with the dog) just put her straight back in the utility room.....where she got a big sulk on.....a typical woman maybe??
Talking of women, the netballer had her name in the JEP today...she got "Player of the Match" for her game earlier on this week....and in Division 2 as well!! PotM is awarded by the opposing team....as a few of us mischievously pointed out....we hadn't realized that they allowed teams with visual impairment  to play netball. The situation was made even worse by the fact that Mum had cut the report out of the paper BEFORE Dad had had a chance to read it.....words were spoken.....but it was agreed that really there wasn't any great difference in the quality of the paper whether there were bits cut out or not.
Ma and Pa went to play petanque this afternoon....on opposing teams, the girls (with Mum) managed to win the first game 13-1....after which the boys (with Dad) woke up a bit......it finished all square apparently.....although Dad would have preferred to be watching to rugby. England v Ireland tomorrow afternoon......I wonder if he will manage to stay awake for the whole match?...if he does it will make a pleasant change.
Not much else to report really today.....ITGirl is at work at Waitrose as usual....M and D are out this evening "down the Bay" with friends....1 and 2 are out as well. Number 3 child is making pizza for friends..... in another language that means that the Kitchen will be covered in flour, the Dining Room will be covered in dirty plates and empty bottles and the Lounge will be covered in ex-students who think they are still at Uni.....the joys!!
