Guess who's back, back again. Its me - the man who turned up almost fashionably late to his sisters graduation whilst eating a sandwich.
Everyone was all like 'Tom it starts at 19:30, you HAVE to be here by 19:10 because thats the latest you're allowed to sit down'. Well 19:23 rolls around and I stroll in, sandwich in one hand, getting ushered by women who almost know me by my first name (due to my absence from the congregation). Needless to say I had the last laugh because Dad had been waiting there for almost an hour and a half.
Thats the big news of the day. Bex graduated and wore a stupid hat and got a certificate and there was much clapping. There was so much clapping that I had to clap like the queen in order to just survive. You know how she claps; left hand palm up, right hand gently patting down with minimal effort. Either she is the queen of being efficient with regard to expending energy whilst making noise using her hands, or she's just old and is too feeble to clap properly...or perhaps she's fed up from the years of clapping. Upon reflection I think perhaps it's a combination of the three.
We went to the pub afterwards. Dad got lambasted for using his phone whilst we were sat around the table (not sure why as everyone else seemed to have their phones on them). Jack complained that he had to replace all of his brakes on his Land Rover because he had driven it in the sea retrieving dad's boat.
I don't know what else happened in everyone's lives today because I was at work. I can imagine what happened though. Mum walked the dog and the dog was disobedient. It probably didn't come back when called and was referred to as 'Jess....Jess...Jessie.....Jessie come.....JESSIE.....JESSIE COME.....GRRRR NAUGHTY DOG!'. Jack 'saved lives on a daily basis'. Daniel went on a boat for a few hours and spouted some made up some information about a bird that someone pointed out: 'Captain Luce what's that bird over there? Ah yes thats the greater spotted seagull. It has a 12 metre wingspan and eats lobsters at low tide'. Becky watched Eastenders on her laptop. Dad put on some reading glasses and read some boring documents and perhaps even had a meeting with someone.
Photos to follow tomorrow apparently.
