Monday

I did enjoy myself yesterday, it was so lovely to be able to do a few 'normal' activities! The girls in the aerobics class kept a beady eye on me throughout the class, making sure I behaved myself, while they were as outrageous as always.....! I must have been sensible as nothing hurts today, just noticed whilst walking the dog this afternoon that I do have calf muscles after all !! Had what may well have been my last dip in the sea, not bad for October 5th...it took me a while to warm up after, and I needed a rest before gardening duties.

Terrible weather this morning, not a very pleasant dog walk, for man or beast, and i can just imagine what the traffic was like, i do remember those 'school runs', luckily Bex had a lift in with Jack but had to walk from station and despite a good coat, got soaked.

It was the funeral of a very dear neighbour today, and one I would have liked to attend but Steve had a lunchtime meeting at very short notice, and I didn't really think I would manage very well on my own. Our condolences go out to the whole family.

I did spend a lot of today cleaning and attempting to 'declutter' various parts of the house, you notice I don't say 'rooms', that would be far to big a project!

Dan has just mentioned that someone stopped him in the shop and asked after me, asking him first if he was a 'Luce", and upon his reply yes, she enquired the "fire fighter?"Not that he has an inferiority complex but he thinks he is definitely the 'UNKNOWN" Luce!! Thats actually not a bad thing, he could well be grateful one day, or blame everything on his two brothers! ( which, as it happens he does most of the time)

This evening I attempted to play badminton, hmmm, never mind the physical element, my brain took the first game to comprehend what it was all about...sure there is a correlation between surgery and losing brain cells, and if so I've lost a fair few........ ( I didn't have many to start with!) anyway, It was GREAT! Made so much nicer by the lovely smiles and hugs I got from lots of the other players, who seemed genuinely pleased to see me back on court....I thank you all .

A little gem to finish the blog
My daughter upon seeing more of my body that she wished to see commented that my stomach was in fact shrinking at long last. "I look less pregnant and  more like a pot-bellied pig" I replied, to which she said, "No, looks more like a beer belly!!"
Cheers love....

Reading a quote from the fact book...In the 1840s trousers were known as 'sit down upons' ..... well I did actually manage to wear a pair of jeans for a short while on Saturday, progress indeed.....
