Monday 19th March

Well here we are a week on from 'the operation', and not sure if i shouldn't leave all further updates to my blog with my obviously talented son.... ;-) Thanks Tom, and while I'm thanking people A HUGE THANK YOU to all the cards/food/flowers (no more vases left!) that so many friends have so kindly given me, not to mention the thousand and one 'chores' that have been implemented in my absence over the last week, and seem to be spilling over into this week. To say they are all very much appreciated is possibly the biggest understatement of the year!
The good news from the operation is that everything that they had to do went smoothly, and yes it did take four and half hours, but I seem to be healing very well, ( so all the extra work at the gym/zumba/tennis/badminton) paid off !! Plus of course the skill of the two lady surgeons- certaintly the 'soluble stich' running the length of my abdomen is going to be easier to deal with than 'staples' ...
It was so lovely to be at home on Mothering Sunday, the children came up 'top trumps' and made me feel like the best mum in the world (which clearly I am not) but I revelled in the attention, and tried to intersperse my emotional tears with ones of laughter- although that is still so painful!!! (coughing is worse!)
I tried to 'write the blog ' in my head last night as I had so much to say, so apologies if it's a little disjointed - i can no longer blame the strong painkillers as only on paracetamol, which reminds me.....off now to ask hubby for my nightly 'injection'.....only 22 more to go, but who's counting!!

  1. Great news you are healing well-as you say all your fitness must have helped. Hard to believe it was only a week today you had your op. Now you have to accept all help offered-not easy for someone who is always helping others, but you will be back to doing all you love to do, if you give it time. Great to have you back xx

Mum and Dad assure me that you are having lovely weather as well so I do not feel too bad writing this blog reply sitting on a balcony as the bottom of a mountain with the sunlight reflecting off the snow!
