Tuesday 13th March

Hi everyone!

I've been clicking my "More Morphine" button every 2 minutes so I've asked my children to just write an update to my Blog because I currently can't feel my face!  My most handsome and gifted son Thomas has kindly agreed to write on my behalf.

Just to say that everything has gone really well.  The operation took about 4.5 hours and the surgeon didn't accidentally remove any important organs so I'm really pleased.  When I awoke I thought I had been playing badminton!

I came out of intensive care after only a short amount of time and now I'm on a ward where everyone is really nice and taking great care of me.  As expected the food is terrible and I haven't eaten properly since Sunday night, but even so my request for a caesar salad and a glass of sauvignon blanc was declined :(

I've still got a few tubes in me but I'm hoping to get them out soon.   I've been out of bed a couple of times and walked to the toilet and back in the past few hours (such an effort after having a catheter!)

Considering my situation I thought about trying to audition for a part in Holby City as I'm "In Character", but to be honest I'm really tired because I haven't slept properly in the last 2 days and so I decided against it.

Stephen is staying with me in the Hospital and I expect my brother Pete to visit me tomorrow so I'm in good hands.  If all goes well I'll be out of here and back in Jersey by the end of the weekend.  Ideally I'll get back Sunday night so that my children will have time to clean up the house.

Thank you all for your support, and kudos to Jane De La Haye for bringing round those chickens for my children.

Superwoman (Jill) x

  1. So glad all has gone well, you have been at the forefront of our minds, so despite the hideous effects of morphine and the bigging up of the adorable Tom, you have made it through, and we can't wait to have you back xx

  3. Ah, introvenous G & T, what a wonderful thought! Don't even have to bother pouring the stuff. So glad you are making such quick and sustained recovery Jill, although didn't really expect anything else from you. Tom, thanks for the update, which made me laugh, always a good thing in the morning to get the day started. By the way Jill, your kitchen looked so clean and tidy yesterday that I presumed you'd hired a cleaner while you were away. So, in return, kudos to your kiddywinks. (Or maybe they just haven't touched anything since you left!!)xxxxx
