Monday 10th September
Set off on my morning dog walk in the rain, and finished in
hot sun! Just had time for a quick cuppa before the hospital visit, and today I
saw Dr AJ, the first thing she told me was that I was anaemic!!
Red blood count dropped to 8.8- so not brilliant, white
cells are holding their own but clotting platelets down to 73. I did mention
that I had a rash on my legs but I thought it was from the grasses in the field
from dog walking- to which she gave me a ‘are you stupid’ look, and promptly
said a very long sounding named condition which is related to the Chemo. This
coupled with my mouth ulcers mean once again my body is struggling to deal with
the Chemo. I have been prescribed folic acid, and she consulted Dr CM to see if
he thought there was anything underlying that might have been missed. They took
more bloods, some to cross match ready for another transfusion, and others to
look at the possibility that I may have antibodies against clotting platelets.
(Or something random like that!!)
The outcome of all this is my Chemo will still go ahead at
the new time of 9am on Wednesday- followed by a blood transfusion…. I can
hardly wait…. Whooo ! ( that was me being sarcastic!!)
After the hospital ordeal it was lovely to go for lunch out
west with the little people and spend a pleasant few hours. I did need to come
home for a ‘rest’ and take Jessie for a walk round the block.
It was the Opening night of the new netball season and I was
asked to sub for the E team (Div 3).So I was very excited to dig out my kit and
go off to les Ormes. Sadly for them they only had 6 players so I went straight
on as Goal Shooter-absolutely loved it!!!! I played three quarters of the match
and although we lost by 5 goals I was very happy to play at a sport I love and
had missed so much.(and yes I did score a few goals!)
