Monday 3rd September
Felt a little tired today; think the last batch of Chemo is
catching up with me. Still, I fancied a swim this morning, but pool not sea,
there were a few of us at the Merton and we did have a laugh as no instructor
so we ‘led ourselves’. Caused much amusement to the on looking holiday- makers,
who must now have concerns about the ‘locals’ weird and wacky behaviour!!
An early lunch was swiftly followed by a trip to the vet for
Jessie’s injections, she was so laid back she fell asleep on my daughter whilst
waiting to go in!
I then had a most enjoyable two hours playing tennis (not
having played since Saturday…… and I need the practice!)
I was very thankful for AH for unexpectedly but kindly
preparing our supper for this evening, and for the continuing ironing skills of
SC. :-)
This ‘thanks’ is extended to all those friends/family who I
know are willing me well, and have been so incredibly supportive over what is
now six months’ worth of treatment.
With the schools and my colleagues going ‘back’ this week,
it feels very strange not to be joining them, coupled with the last child no
longer in the ‘loop’ of the school runs, I think it will take some time to
re-adjust to a different time-table than the one I had originally planned.
“Personally I'm
always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught.”
~ Winston Churchill
