Thursday 23rd August
I’ve had a good day today; sun has been shinning, seen lots
of friends, and had very little side effects from chemo. My early morning
starts are catching up on me, felt tired this morning, so just as well SW came
around, it gave me an opportunity to sit down and chat, plus she bought in a
homemade chicken casserole (scrummy- thanks)!
I did however drag her to the beach to watch me have a swim,
the tide was high and it was beautiful, and managed to catch up with Pdlh at
the same time so killed two birds with one stone- so to speak!!
Meanwhile hubby was entertaining the Rector at home and ‘Jessie
sitting’, that dog now gets twice as much attention than anybody else in this house-
we all love her!!
I had an invitation to play on a grass tennis court this
afternoon in St Lawrence- it was lovely, not played on grass since school days,
very different. We mixed in different formats but at one point the ‘chemos’ won
a set- so IN YOUR FACE CANCER is all I can say to that!!!
After supper hubby and I nipped down to play Pentanque, it
seems like ages since we’ve had a game, we ended up playing three a side, and
it went ‘to the wire’ with my team losing all the way and then pipped the hubby’s
team 13/12. …….Sorry, am I boring you?!!
An interesting fact :-
Pétanque is a shortened or slang form of the phrase
"pied-tanquée" which means feet together...describing the position
from which one shoots the pétanque balls.
Thanks AH- beautiful ! |
