Wednesday 29th August
Other than my early morning ‘wake up call,’ I had an excellent start to the day, two hours
of superlative tennis plus, I came home with a HUGE fish Quiche and still warm
homemade rock cakes!! Thanks AH , you should be on Masterchef, and a big thanks
to SO and MP, who entertained me on and off the court! (BTW 6cm of Quiche
left!!).
*BTW By the Way
Showered, lunch and headed into hospital ready for the ‘fuel
up’ , had my lovely nurse HD, it is going
to be sad to lose her to the UK, but she will definitely better her career in
the ‘move’ The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is located in Withington,
Manchester,
and is one of the largest cancer treatment centres in Europe. I wish her all the best,
and I’m quite sure she will come back
and stun us all with her new found knowledge in the care and treatment in
battling the disease.
It was very quiet in oncology today only three of us and no
visitors, so I was more than happy to read and sleep most of the time away.
It’s becoming harder to find good veins as I do seem to have had rather a lot
of Cannula’s fitted lately. Nurse KB had a ‘brainwave’ and queried the
carboplatinum administration time span of an hour- suggesting 30minutes should be sufficient, she checked it out
and Lo! A reduction of 30 minutes- so I left the ward at 3.45!
I came home to a tidy house- thanks DL, (partly because the ‘renegades’
had been trashing it all afternoon and ‘teasing the dog ‘mercilessly’) . With supper
sorted and no visitors I was glad to have another hour doze on the sofa.
Perked up after supper and ‘walked ‘Jessie in the
field/meadow for 30 minutes before enjoying the Opening Ceremony of the Paralympics.
(If you didn’t see ‘Best of Men’ iplayer it- worth watching)
Are you walking Jessie or is she walking you?! Hope you're OK today after chemo yesterday.xx
