Whoops, having such a lovely time,(and HAD to watch Homeland) forgot to blog yesterday !!
Us girls went on an adventure to the wilds of suffolk to 'watch' a clay pigeon shoot, we also had to support my little bro as he was 'cooking' burgers with the aforementioned onions.... There was an eclectic mixture of folk from the 'nobs' to the 'rum ol'e country boyes'!!
It was very LOUD!!!
We decided on a walk, as we hadn't had our daily exercise ( and we'd had a large burger, with onions),so set off with our trusty ordnance survey maps..... to cut a long story short we stumbled across a village, whereupon we asked a 'local' what the village was called....Westhall he replied only it sounds a bit like West'all, 'ah, we replied knowingly 'it just seems a bit isolated?' He told us that the village had to 'move' away from the church due to the plague, but it was a bit before his time! The conversation carried on for a while, then I asked if he'd lived here all his life ( and only suffolk folk will understand this,) he said 'no, he'd lived in Uggleshall and Beccles too!! Now for Jersey folk you might ask a St Ouen person the same question and they'd say they'd lived in St Brelade and St Peter - so you get the gist? Needless to say we were polite and carried on walking....priceless.
Cont....
A new motto....'Never trust your closest friend' especially when she tells you that she is taking you to a cafe that has lovely coffee....its all LIES!!!!
Off we set along the beach at Gorleston, very pleasant it was to, so we carried on and on and on.....needed a coffee at the pub in Hopton(decided it was a tad too early for an alcoholic beverage, even for us!)Had a few minor detours, footpaths that ended on sheer cliff edges worn away by erosion, and visited at least 2 static mobile home sites(one we had to climb over a fence to get in)and then wandered about nonchalantly looking for the exit!!
Six and a half miles later..........luckily for her my aunt saved us and we did manage lunch in a pub!!!!
