Saturday 14th April
Beautiful sunny day here in Lowestoft, really lovely and warm, sat outside and worked on my tan, just thought I'd make sure you all knew how dry, sunny and pleasant it's been here today. Sorry to hear that my Jersey friends have suffered thunder and hail storms, so unlucky .....
Went on very small shopping expedition into the town, took my rucksack, as I was only allowed to carry light breakfast cereal ( strict aunt ) , but as it was sunny and warm (did I mention that?) I didn't need a coat.
Whilst walking back I stopped at an ice cream kiosk selling 'Jersey's Finest' hmmm , I grilled him in full fat, semi skimmed and 'did he mean Jersey or Channel Island milk?'I checked the carton he showed me and after my approval, I let him continue his work... and told him he was fortunate to be selling such a top quality product!
Continuing on my way home, complete with i pod and speakers clamped on my ears, (trying so hard not to laugh out loud to Michael McIntyre) I encountered a blind man and his dog walking the same way as me on a narrow stretch of path along the seafront. He had stopped and was seeking assistance , as didn't feel his dog was terribly sure of his way home. Well, the phrase the blind leading the blind was pretty much spot on!! I did try and turn the man and the dog back to where I thought the path to his road may have been, but luckily the dog (Boyee, well, It's a suffolk dog !)was having none of it! Suffice to say despite nearly getting tangled in dog and lead, we were both led by the dog to the correct path. He was a very lovely gentleman who at 81 had already been playing bowls earlier in the day ( i didn't ask details) , I thought it safer for me to leave him and find my way home , and let his sensible dog take him...........
