Monday 23rd April
1.20am, so only just Monday…..6 weeks today since my
hysterectomy, doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun…. Or not as the case
maybe.
One of my jobs on
my ‘to do’ list was to become more proficient with my typing skills, (by that I
mean using more than 2 fingers at one time) I am still RUBBISH, and look at all
the time I’ve had to practice!!
It’s been quite an eventful 3 days since the ‘chemo’
session on Thursday, never a dull moment in this household, but that’s a good
thing. I keep making random lists of things I should be doing, and then losing
the lists… Sometimes I struggle to string a sentence together (but my family
say I’m like that normally, and most of the time I talk ‘drivel’ anyway).
Sunday was a relatively quiet day after the birthday
festivities; hubby and I did some work in the garden, planting out some of the
vegetable seeds, neither of us really know what we are doing, but we bumbled
along trying to pool together our limited knowledge of the various brassicas
that I have made him grow (we seem to have a surplus of turnips already!)
Had a lovely surprise from an ex St Martin parishioner
and neighbour who popped in with not one, but two lasagnes – the family’s eyes
lit up , so that’s tonight’s supper sorted- thank you- ;-)
7.20pm….. As you
can see not a great night as regards ‘sleep’ decided I am suffering from a
little known chemo reaction called ‘Riverdance Legs’. (So, I can make it up if
I want). Other people may say ‘restless legs’, but it’s not funny when I need
to sleep and they are doing a Michael Flatly!
That aside I did have a bit more motivation today and
completed some ‘household tasks before heading to the food shop….Oh joy…. Felt
that by the time I returned, unpacked and had lunch I needed a rest!
Did call the hospital again this morning (feel bad harassing
them, but they insist we do if we are worried about anything). So daughter and
I picked up prescription of anti-inflammatory drugs to try and reduce pain. Fingers
crossed they work, at least I have stopped taking the anti-sickness tablets,
and so far have avoided that particularly unpleasant side effect.
Missed my ‘inset’ day today, and work starting tomorrow,
also the start back of my lovely Zumba class, ;-(….Think I will have to ‘pop’
by next week and check up on everybody!!!
Liking the River dance legs, conjurs up amusing images in my head!! Good to ring hospital, they are there to help, and if you can ease symptoms all the better, and very glad you avoiding some side effects. Missed you today, although lets face it you'd have only been sitting around with your feet on the desk! But at least I could have come and annoyed you:)refering to the typing, maybe you could use your restless legs (well toes) for some speed writing!!! Lots of love and hugs WW XX
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the Riverdance legs-how frustrating!!!!!! Are you out & about in the car now? Can't believe it's 6 weeks since your big op-you've done so well & look great. Hope the anti-inflammatories ease the pain. Looking forward to seeing you this week xxxx
ReplyDeleteThe images in my head (weird at the best of times) are in overdrive at the thought of you popping in to the zumba class, taking over the instructions (as you can't actually do it yet, so I'm sure they would allow you to do that)talking a load of drivel whilst your legs are Riverdancing and everyone bashing into each other and ending up in a pile of bodies on the floor. Maaaaaaan, I'm ODD.
ReplyDeleteKeep popping the pillies Jilly. So good to see you driving yesterday.xxxx
