Well, after the comment about the woman of the house taking HER blog back we decided that she shouldn't really be let anywhere near it for a few days.....so that's bad luck to our reader.
It's been a bit of a cracking day weather wise...Pa was out early on the posters and leaflets again.....it's not doing his back any good...but he keeps telling us how important it is. We all absolutely refuse to help....as we can't really see why we should lose our Senators.....WE LOVE SENATORS. Dad spends every evening trying to explain that they (Senators that is) really can't carry on now that everyone is elected on the same day, and for the same length of time.....but, to be honest, we're not really interested. We'll all go out to vote on Wednesday, but we're not all agreed on this referendum thing at all. The sooner it's over the better.....no doubt we'll be arguing about the result next week....and which Option should be the one selected by the States Assembly (right, that's it....no more politics)
Dan got a double trip out to the Ecrehous today.....and crackin' it was too. Some great photos posted on the internet this evening of his "work office", sitting on the shingle, half way to France, looking at blue sky and blue sea. Dan came home with sun burn.....got shouted at by Ma and laughed at by the rest of us all. Maybe he'll take some sun cream with him next time. Did we mention that it's his birthday tomorrow?...probably not....well, he has a charter again tomorrow afternoon, but he's out tonight and I guess we'll let him lie in in the morning as a birthday treat. Sometime this evening Mum needs to make him a cake......but she could do it in the morning because he won't be up early enough to know the difference.
Bex went out with Dad for the second half of the morning putting up posters, but had to be home in time to go off to work at 12:30. She'll be back in an hour. No one comments, but a 1:30 to 9:30 shift is a tough one on a Saturday.....maybe she'll bring home some "reductions" and make us all happy.
Tom went off and cut the lawns (and verges at the top of the field) this afternoon. For some unknown reason he was wearing his fedora (and sunglasses)....he commented that there were some very funny looks from the coachloads of tourists as they drove past....well, it's not every day that you find a field with a man wearing a fedora while driving a rideon lawnmower at the end of it.....something like a scene out of a gangster movie.
Jack was up, out and gone all day....returning only just in time to eat and then go in to work..... he's on nights this evening and tomorrow. We doubt that he'll be allowed to drive his shiny engine in the dark...one step at a time Jack....let's get the daytime driving right first shall we?
Mum and Dad had a couple of "together" moments today. First, they went to petanque for an hour this afternoon. Apparently there were sixteen of them, they all lined up and were given numbers....the numbers are then read off a sheet to work out who plays against who....and M and P found themselves playing against each other....No wonder Dad was in a grump when he came back.....he hadn't played well, AND, worse still, he'd been beaten by Mum.....twice!
Secondly, they both took the dog to the beach this evening....just for an half hour. The poor dog didn't know what was going on.....walking at 8 in the evening? ....anyway, they all went off to Grouville and came back well pleased.
Ma and Pa are planning a trip to St. Ouens tomorrow. Passports are being got out and cars are being fueled for the long journey. Dad has said he will go, but that they have to be back by 5 for the Grand Prix highlights....so that's gone down well with "she that should be obeyed".....Pa may well end up getting left behind.
That's it for tonight...the cat is sitting on the windowsill (outside) and looking hopeful that it might be let in. The dog is also hopeful...if the cat gets let in then she can chase it around the kitchen.
