Today's excitement was provided by the (nearly) most qualified driver in the house.....the most qualified is, of course, the old man...but we're sure that he was one of those who knew the Constable and was just "given" an all groups licence. Anyway....a call went out mid morning that the fireman had had " a little biff" in his Land Rover. He was fine, as was the person he had driven into. We suppose at this stage that we should say that it wasn't his fault, and that the other party had just pulled out right into his path without looking. It turns out that Jack has a very small dent in his front bumper, but that the other person (who was driving a small Japanese vehicle) has "considerable" damage to their vehicle......and the moral of the story? If you're going to have an accident, then driving a classic Land Rover is still a very good vehicle to be in when it occurs.
The Politician managed his day in the Assembly, but he tells us that he didn't move from his seat all day....which was just as well because, at one stage, the Deputy Bailiff suspended the sitting because there were only 24 Members in the Assembly. Dad, not having gone anywhere, was one of the few still there. His back seems to have coped, but he's pretty tired this evening.
All the others have had a normal day apparently....Mum is cooking individual cakey things for tomorrow when we have small children visiting.....remind us to be out when they arrive!! Dan is supposed to be at the Ecrehous tomorrow afternoon, so let's hope the weather improves....wasn't today such a poor effort, especially after yesterday.....but then maybe yesterday was our summer.....let's hope not.
