Friday 4th May
My daughter brought me a hot drink in bed this morning, just
what I needed to face the foggy day!
Had two visitors before 9am, one bringing rice lunch and
hugs, and the other my walking buddy (just once round Queen’s valley). I headed
off into town by 11.45 to attend Pat Church(Dubras) funeral, she was an amazing
lady and above all my friends mum. I haven’t been to any other funeral where
the coffin was taken out to ‘My Way’ and followed by spontaneous clapping by
the congregation. It was true Pat’s style, and she ‘touched’ so many people, as
was evident by the packed town church. I won’t deny there were tears, but was
comforted by a double hug from a friend- just what I needed.
Stayed in town and picked up RFL T-shirts for the family,
and then ended up bumping into people and chatting, but all good vibes and
encouraging words.
I arrived home
somewhat tired at 5pm, so was delighted to receive a huge Cottage pie and scrumptious
rock cakes from a Maufant neighbour, delicious, (freshly made and still warm!)
Tonight’s quote comes from Son No 1..........(he read it
somewhere)
‘There are things that you want to do, things that you could
do and things that you have to do, and unfortunately it is the things that you
have to do that take should take priority’
You're posting earlier tonight Jill - you must be tired! Wears me out just reading about your day! x
