Wednesday 2nd May
Think that my hair has begun the ‘falling out’ process; keep
thinking I am prepared for this but not entirely sure I am. Discussing my
general fear of this and how it will affect my day to day life my son came up
with the answer……….’wear a Burqa, that should cover the hair loss’!!!
Drove into town this morning on a mission for lampshades and
beds, such an exciting life I lead!! Only managed an hour in the city as needed
a swim before meeting a St Ouen friend for lunch, this time at Classic Herd tea
rooms, not eaten there before and it was excellent service/food and company!! We
even managed a short walk around the lanes of St Peter before I headed off this
time to the REAL depths of St Ouen, in fact nearly Guernsey. I needed the cup
of tea proffered by my friend on my arrival, a traumatic journey for an ‘easterner’!
You know people who live out west have a slightly different look about them,
far more wrinkles around the eyes, and I’ll tell you why. It’s because they
have the sun in their face driving into town in the morning, and the sun in their
face driving home in the evening!!!
‘But if you were in a hot air balloon with Adolf Hitler and
Winston Churchill and you were losing altitude, which one would you throw out?’ Harry Hill
I know I would find it hard and emotional to lose my hair too as it's quite a contribution to what defines how we look. Everyone knows what it feels like just to have a 'bad hair day', never mind shedding locks. You, Jill Luce, will look beautiful no matter what, either with a wig, bandana, sunhat or burqa (LOL, which son was that?!)The only positive spin on this is that if losing your hair means that you get better, then it WILL be worth it. Everyone will love you, hair or no, you know that.xxxx
