Saturday 19th May,
Two hours of fun tennis, thanks ladies most enjoyable (even
if I was ‘the loser’)!!
Hubby and I made an appearance on the village green
pentanque ‘terrain’ this afternoon, he chose not to partner me and narrowly
succeeded in beating me 13-11. (I made him cook his own supper tonight as
punishment);-0. By the way if anyone is visiting our French friends over the
channel in the next few weeks, please could they buy me a new ‘counter’ and a
proper tape measure, I will gladly reimburse them for their troubles. (It is
getting serious, and we have a ‘match’ against some Grouville counterparts in
the next couple of weeks, and they thrashed us last time so I need the
practice)!
Visited Gorey butcher to buy my ‘roast’ for tomorrow night,
although depending on how we get on with our 15 mile ‘hike’ tomorrow (le Rocque
to Corbiere) for Jersey Mencap, I may not be physically able to stand let alone
cook!!! I am quite sure that I will not be able to do half of it, especially as
the forecast is for bad weather, but at least we will start it.
I have been reading an excellent book today (sent over by my
sister) by Professor Jane Plant called ‘Your Life in your hands’, and as well
as her own ‘journey’ with the disease it links diets and cancers.
“I don’t wish to know tomorrow for the trials of today, are
enough to keep me busy, here on life’s pathway.” Dottie Duggan
