Sunday 27th May
RACE FOR LIFE!!!
Such a brilliant day, the weather was perfect and my ‘team’
were fantastic!!
I was nervously excited and was pleased that hubby was there
to set up the banner with no 2 son and my daughter. All wearing the t-shirts
that were emblazoned with my name, and reading all the little ‘messages’ on the
backs of people’s shirts was pretty emotional too.
So many people have donated on and off-line to not only my ‘just
giving’ page but to lots of my team members so while I am unsure of our joint
total amount, I know that currently the amount stands at £4.575, a truly
staggering amount of money .
So to each and every one of you I would like to say a big
heartfelt THANK YOU, and sorry to ST who after I lent her a ‘pink’ tinsel wig
had pink hands and face………(it was quite funny…)
We had a lovely lunch at THE bar with some of the team
(thanks N and P), and then enjoyed the rest of the afternoon doing some
gardening- a truly memorable day.
I'm the one with the straight pink wig in the middle!!

seeds that you plant”
Robert Louis Stevenson
Well done Team Jilly!
ReplyDeleteLovely day, lovely photo, lovely people!
xx
It truly was a great day Jill watching the sea of pink ladies walking along the front was wonderful. A special mention has to go to Jane she looked fabulous and of course to N and P for being so kind. Same time next year! xxxxxx
ReplyDeleteSame time next year, deffo. The pink blobs going along the Esplanade was SO good to see, just a constant stream of people doing their stuff! Jill, so nice to meet your gorgeous friends, some even revealed their blog name to me!! HA, feel so included!! Such a gorgeous morning, united with those who love you so much and to whom you mean so much to.
ReplyDeleteThanks Vicky,(truth be told, the only way I could handle this walk with Jill was to dress up silly) but the only special mention has to go to Jill, who inspired us all to go in the first place. I've known about Race for Life for years, but never done it, just never bothered, you know, always something else to do. Jill has inspired me to do it this year, to support her, her family and the cause to help herself and all others going through what she is, or who will do in the future. I shall be doing it every year to come I think, no, I know. Thank you Jill.xxxxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteI couldn't have done it without all the support - thank you once again - booked you all in for next year already! Ha :)
