Thursday 12th July

Thursday 12th July
“Lily Savage” I thought this morning as I attempted to slick mascara on my ever diminishing eye lashes. In the vain effort to cover up the lack of facial hair (although I’m sure I am growing a moustache-how is that fair!)I am endeavouring to apply more make up than I usually wear, however this experiment and the fact that my eyesight is failing(I have to put my glasses on to check my reflection in the mirror- and every time I still get a shock!) I end up with a kind of sad old ‘drag queen look’, not exactly the overall impression I am trying to put out there!

I was pondering the question of going for the tattooed eyebrows (but what if it went badly wrong? I’d be stuck with them forever!) Then I thought well, I could do false eyelashes, but they would just annoy me, or one would probably drop off in the middle of some ‘posh’ do and I’d be left, sitting there with no hair, wonky eyebrows, wearing one eyelash, and smeared make up! Hubby would be mortified and have to take me home like some teenager who’s had one too many jager bombs!!

(The Jägerbomb (Description: play /ˈjɡərbɒm/) is a bomb shot cocktail that was originally mixed by dropping a shot of Jägermeister into a glass of Beer but in recent years has become more popular with Red Bull or other energy drinks)

The great launch tomorrow of the new charity FOJO (friends of Jersey Oncology),  the website goes ‘live’  and over the weekend the ‘Give us a Wave’ fund raiser set up by Little Joe at the surf shack in St Ouen should kick off. I will try and get out there and support, but the thought of ‘surfing’ in teams of 4 or 5 people in a rota for an hour is not for me – not this year anyway!  I wish everyone good luck and in case you’re thinking of joining in, you don’t need to be able to surf  just ‘catch a wave and count them’!!
