Wednesday 18th July
Got delayed going into hospital for yet another blood test, this time
by Charlie and Camilla. They did wave as they passed by and I am so looking
forward to our intimate meal for 4 tonight – (Or is that for 400). Anyway I digress
after brightening up the quiet oncology unit today with my smile and cheery
nature. I had blood test and the results were RUBBISH AGAIN! (So much for
positive thoughts!). Good news is my clotting platelets are raised slightly to
50 – BUT bad news is my white cells are to low I’m now Neutropenic! I think they’ve got me mixed up with someone
else! I go into hospital well and they seem determined to make me sick! Anyway
here are the doctors’ orders ;-
Eat a good healthy diet
Get plenty of fresh air
Exercise regularly i.e. Tennis, Badminton, Swimming etc
Sleep every afternoon and NO VISITORS unless they do housework or/and
gardening
(Talking and Socialising far too tiring)
All the above is true.
I’m now on antibiotics for a week and obviously no chemotherapy
tomorrow. Blood transfusion (Tigger Juice) Friday – no visitors allowed (that
is true!) After which I’ll feel full of vim and vigour – apparently! Repeat
blood test again on Monday (starting to look like a junkie with track marks up my
arm) with hopefully chemo sometime next week. All jolly good fun I say – Bring it
on!
