Wednesday 4th July

Wednesday 4th July

Saw the talented children put on an amazing performance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at St Michaels School- very slick. Lots of work gone into costumes, props and rehearsals- well done to all involved!!

Had an UK visitor (a good friend’s daughter) at lunchtime- so caught up on news both on and off Island. During the visit we saw the news on Son no 1’s laptop- the fire at Gas works place……… a bit of a shock and then worry as Son no 2 was at work today.
He did arrive home eventually at 9.30pm, and he had been first on the scene- luckily no-one seriously hurt but the situation still not stable- full marks to all the emergency services.

On a lighter note……………..I was surprised to see St Martin’s school children (at least two classes worth) walk past my house as I was driving out – Mrs SB’s face was a picture in the rain! As I slowly drove past, it became apparent they had been on an 8 and half mile walk!! Highly commendable, and then I saw her ……………….hair plastered to her face……….a very bedraggled Mrs VM........... I laughed my head off all the way down the road!!!!!  (I think she may have uttered some rude words, but luckily I didn’t catch what she said; besides there were small children about!)

  3. Thanks for inviting Lottie round, she was full of how lovely the house was looking and how fab you were looking (not in that order). Glad Jack was safe, watched the fire on FB. Take care and maybe will try to get over later in the year xxx
