Saturday 12th January
We girls did enjoy our night in the hotel, being able to use
the fabulous facilities of DW club and waking up to the amazing view across the
bay. However my daughter was a bit disappointed with me falling asleep well
before 10pm!!!
We bumped into ‘locals’ MP and RP also staying over and
wished the former a ‘happy birthday’ over our cooked breakfast this morning!
After we checked out we were quickly brought back down to
earth with a food shopping trip to
Waitrose…..buying yet more mini eggs amongst other rather more important necessities.
Dropped into see BW and SW albeit briefly before popping
into the RJA and HS (car boot sale) and then back home, but I had to wiz back
out to ‘help’ in the canteen at the Jersey badminton Open.
Although I did a bit of clearing/washing up I did manage to
see a few games being played, such an excellent standard and marvellous to
watch- well done to all our Jersey players. I particularly liked the comment
from one of my former ladies doubles partner when she introduced me as her “Old
Ladies partner” I thought she’d hit the nail on the head- being an old
lady!!!!!!!
Met the hubby at the Petanque pitch at 2.15pm, not played in
ages and we got beaten 2-0, we were however putting up a good fight in the
third game 12- 6 before having to finish it as one of the pair had to leave. It
was so good to be outside in the dry and see the sunshine all day, makes you
feel so much better!
My dog had been walked twice so no need for me to take her
out late this afternoon, so I’ve been well and truly spoilt, doing things I
love with people I love- life is good.
Remember the past, plan for the future, but live
for today, because yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come.
Does Hubby realise that mini eggs are fairly calorific !!!! Mark was very surprised to hear that Mars Bars and Scampi bites are actually fattening !!! xxxx
