Thursday 10th January
I'm not sure, but I thought I saw some sunshine briefly today, I was a bit tied up in dog lead and chatting to random strangers who stopped their cars to admire the dog and talk to me....but convinced we had at least ten minutes.
I did a Pilates class today, it is just as well there are no mirrors in the room, as I think I am exactly in the correct position, and of course in reality I am no where close.
I could have done with some coaching on ball skills, actually on rugby skills to be precise, as this was what I was attempting to teach four year olds this afternoon. What I know about rugby and nothing are about the same, but luckily with that age group you can sound like you know what you're talking about!!!!
I am jolly pleased that a few of my children could actually 'drop kick' by the end of the session, no mean feat for that age group! I think I really should do my homework and watch a few games, I mean if it means spending an hour or so studying beefy men running around in tight shorts, I can sacrifice a bit of my time.....
"I prefer rugby to soccer. I enjoy the violence in rugby, except when they start biting each other's ears off." - Elizabeth Taylor (1972)
"Rugby is a good occasion for keeping thirty bullies far from the center of the city." - Oscar Wilde

I get your rugby background today, but have to admit the fog one yesterday went straight over my head!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you are back to work and enjoying it. I think your idea to get more coaching ideas is a great one! On a more serious note, don't they play tag/touch at that age as an introduction to rugby? - Your homework, might not be so fun to watch though!!
Reminded me of the time William and the team from Grainville went to play rugger against St Michaels . The Home Team came marching out onto the pitch beautifully attired in their matching tracksuits and started warming up !
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile a bored Grainville hung about around the goal posts dressed in various old joggers and t. shirts eating crisps !!! kept expecting one of them to light up a ciggie !!! We were thrashed !!! xxxx
Was quite proud of our budding rugby players Jill. Well done
