Sunday 20th January

Sunday 20th January

I did so enjoy my aerobics session with the girls this morning; I’ve missed the frivolity in the classes as well as the actual fitness! Afterwards I had packed some more gear into a bag and my tennis stuff and so drove down to the club where I managed to fit a set of tennis in before really feeling the cold and needing lunch!

Hubby and daughter had taken Jess for a run along Grouville beach, where she met a family member- her ‘uncle’ we believe, very similar markings.

The general topic around the house this weekend has been diets, there has been talk of a certain member of the family going on a 5/2 diet- i.e. for five days you eat ‘normally’, consume about 1,800 calories and for two days you ‘fast’ or have about 700 calories. Anyway it got me thinking about what I am eating on a typical day, so I thought I’d write it down and you can all think I’m nuts!

Porridge (made with water) blueberries and a little manuka honey sometimes. Toast and peanut butter!

Mid-morning a banana!

Usually a salad lunch made up of spinach/rocket/watercress, asparagus, pumpkin seeds, beetroot, tomatoes, peppers- sometimes mackerel or tofu. I make my own salad dressings with oil, vinegar and turmeric.

Tonight the mob had Shepherd’s pie that hubby and I had jointly made (check us out!!) braised red cabbage creamed swede and leeks. I had jacket potato (SC from Gorey please note!) and a spoonful of mince with loads of vegetables. They had yoghurt, cake, and chocolate and I had an orange, Oh, and some liquorice!!

I often have an apple in the evening with cheese biscuits, but no cheese, that is tough!

I have just started taking ground up bitter apricot kernels, as well as a spoonful of powdered wheat grass, all stuff to keep those Cancer cells from even thinking about returning!

Anyway the family have ‘gone with the flow’ and I don’t get too much grief, son no 3 has bought me lots of lovely loose tea from Coopers to try – all herbal or fruit of course- and they are delicious, I don’t miss coffee and tea anywhere as much as I thought I would.

429 'page views' on the 17th January- that's not just my family clicking hundreds of times either!!
